Biography

Ezat Zarasvand brings over 45 years of global experience spanning the oil and gas, healthcare, and technology sectors. As Managing Director for Iran at Straife, he draws on deep regional expertise and a career built at the intersection of energy markets, digital transformation, and cross-border business development.

Mr. Zarasvand began his career with the National Iranian Oil Company at Kharg Island before arriving in the United States in 1976. He subsequently led business development and commercial operations across the Middle East, Former Soviet Union, Europe, and Asia Pacific for industry leaders including BP, Oracle, Cerner, Cap Gemini, Foxboro, and Information Store.

At BP Exploration in London, Mr. Zarasvand was personally selected by then-Chairman Lord John Browne to lead the BP/NIOC North Sea team in asset dispute resolution — convening the NIOC Executive Team in London to negotiate a Joint Venture Strategy Agreement. This assignment reflects the trust he commands across both Western institutions and regional National Oil Companies.

Throughout his career, Mr. Zarasvand has negotiated multimillion-dollar contracts with major NOCs and IOCs including Saudi Aramco, KOC, ADNOC, ADCO, Qatar Gas, RasGas, Gazprom, AIOC Baku, and Oman PDO, as well as leading EPCs such as Bechtel, Technip, Foster Wheeler, and Chiyoda Corporation. He brings deep expertise in digital oilfield transformation across the upstream, midstream, production, refining, and LNG value chains, and in deploying data analytics and AI to predict and prevent operational failures.

In the healthcare sector, Mr. Zarasvand has enabled institutions across the Middle East to implement clinical lifecycle automation and enterprise hospital management systems, including digital hospitals, EMR, PACS, and radiology workflows. He also holds recognized expertise in telehealth infrastructure, developed through his work with Cerner and his engagement with physician and technology pioneers at the Texas Medical Center — the largest medical center in the world.

Mr. Zarasvand is widely respected by regional ministers, Excellencies, and C-suite executives for his integrity, cultural astuteness, and people-to-people diplomacy. A strategic relationship builder, he has cultivated and sustained a global network that consistently opens pathways to new business in complex, high-stakes markets.

He holds a BSc in Electronic Engineering and a Pre-MBA from Kansas State University. Mr. Zarasvand is a Life Member of IEEE, a Member of Houston Rotary International, Past President of the Houston–Baku Sister City Organization, and a Member of both the Houston–Abu Dhabi Sister City Organization and the Houston World Affairs Council.
