Murat Seyrek
Dr. Murat Seyrek specializes in EU regulations, particularly those related to ESG/sustainability, critical raw materials, forced labor, and the EU Green Deal. He assists clients in gaining a comprehensive understanding of regulatory and policy changes within the EU, along with insight into the risks and opportunities associated with existing, new, and forthcoming legislation and policies. Murat has twenty years of experience in Brussels advising think tanks, NGOs, international organizations, governments, and businesses in Europe, North America, the MENA region, and Asia, and implementing projects and programs funded by the European Union, the US Department of State, and UNDP. In recent years, he has been involved in a number of projects and initiatives related to European legislation on sustainability, business and human rights, and forced labor. His diverse experience working with NGOs, businesses, and policymakers has uniquely positioned him to understand and integrate the perspectives of all stakeholders involved in sustainability initiatives. Murat is also an Adjunct Professor at the Brussels School of Governance and the VUB, a Senior Policy Advisor at the European Foundation for Democracy, and an Academic Fellow at the European Policy Centre. Murat holds a PhD in Social Sciences and an MA in European Studies from KU Leuven (Belgium), and a BSc in International Relations from the Middle East Technical University (Turkey). He speaks Turkish, English, and French.
